Sambrook's research methodology
Policy questions can rarely be answered by large amounts of pre-structured interviews, but respond readily to a focused, qualitative research approach. The key to most strategy research projects is therefore:
- to identify the optimum number of organisations to interview
- to identify the key people to contact within these organisations
- to interview them using a small, highly-trained team of experienced professionals
In order to achieve this, it is essential to conduct detailed discussions with the client, both at the proposal stage and at the project briefing stage, in order to ensure that the appropriate research methods and sample are chosen, and a clear plan of action is agreed and implemented to deliver consistent and reliable findings.
