Businesses prefer independent market research firms
Businesses using independent market research consultants (such as Sambrook Research) are more likely to experience service level satisfaction than those using global agencies, according to a report issued by Ciao and the Independent Consultants Group. The survey found that 57% of respondents felt that large-scale companies were more interested in "selling a solution" than understanding a client's problems. At the start of the new year David Williams our new Marketing Executive joined the business. His predacessor Lucy has moved on to Brighton, and we thank her for her contribution to the growth of the business. The importance of staff motivation!

Sambrook believe that good staff morale is essential to the success of any company. Over the summer, an incentive scheme was created and having achieved our key targets in July and August, the team was treated to lunch in Amsterdam! The recycling and waste management industry is growing strongly as a whole, mainly due to changes in European legislation and increased government targets driving the demand for equipment and resources. Preparing for compliance with the OFR Regulations

Sambrook has formed an alliance with The Pielle Consulting Group and E4 Environmental to provide a service that will help companies deal with the new OFR Regulations which came into force on 1 April 2005.  The regulations require companies to report on a much wider range of qualitative factors that may be necessary to provide shareholders with a balanced and comprehensive analysis of the business.  Relevant factors are likely to include employee matters and environmental, social and community issues.  In some areas Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports may be needed. Fire Safety Report

The survey conducted at the International Fire Expo (17-19th May 2005, NEC) indicated that the fire detection systems and alarms market is growing at about 10% p.a. but in the fire fighting equipment industry, new innovative products are seeing stronger sales than more traditional equipment. Security Industry Report

Research at the IFSEC exhibition (17-19th May 2005, NEC) revealed, not perhaps surprisingly, that the security industry is grwoing strongly. Concerns raised by the attack on the Twin Towers and subsequent terrorist attacks have made public safety of prime importance, reflected by growth in both access controls and the CCTV markets. Construction Equipment Report

Feedback from the SED Trade Show (17-19th May 2005, Milton Keynes) indicated that the construction industry is currently growing well, the various sectors growing at between 10-12% p.a. Compact equipment has a very strong image at the moment as its versatility makes it ideal for use in housing construction, road and rail work and even use by the private individual. Inward Investors' Perception of Telford Report

Sambrook Research has now published the findings of the inward investment research study commissioned by Telford Development Agency. This report examines the requirements of inward investors when looking to relocate their business, and analyses what they believe Telford has to offer as a business location, highlighting its main perceived strengths and weaknesses. Commercial Vehicle Report

Sambrook conducted an independent survey at the recent Commercial Vehicle and Automotive Trade Show (4-6th April 2005). The report contains an overview of the commercial vehicle market, including the market trends and the key opportunities and threats. Feedback was generally positive and the market is growing overall.
